About Me

I am a mother to two energetic boys and find so much joy and happiness in getting to watch them grow. I was also a gestational carrier, carrying and giving birth to a beautiful baby boy via IVF. Pregnancy and the whole birth process have always fascinated me, and I am firmly convinced that we, as women, were wonderfully designed and capable of such things.

As a toLabor trained doula, my aim is to draw upon the formal training I have received, as well as my own personal experience and continued education in the birth field in order to be more empathetic, gentle, and nurturing, as well as a source of comfort, guidance and strength.

I believe pregnancy and the birth of a child are two of the most transformative experiences in one's life and it has inspired me to set off on the path of becoming a midwife.

I believe parents deserve to have accurate, evidence-based information regarding pregnancy and childbirth so they may make confident and wise decisions for themselves and their baby, no matter where or how they choose to give birth. As a doula, I encourage women to trust their bodies, their own instincts, and the birth process itself. Giving birth in a calm and nurturing environment allows the woman to labor confidently. If a birth partner is present, I am always aware of the emotional connection he or she has with the laboring woman and I honor that connection by supporting the partner so they can participate at their own comfort level.

I believe women are strong. I believe when you take the fear out of birth, families are born into an atmosphere of joy and amazement. I believe there is far more than one kind of ideal birth.
